Kumar Swamy - Chairman

Qualified as an engineer with a degree in electrical engineering and has worked for many organizations in the UK.

He was born in India, crippled in both legs and was helped by a missionary doctor.

Kumar has traveled in Africa, South America and Europe working alongside people from many countries and denominations being involved in charity works over many years. With the encouragement of countless well wishers, he has with like-minded people, been working among the poor in various places in India.

Kumar delights to see changes made to lives by just a little timely guidance and opportunity provided to the marginalized. Having tasted many good things in life, he feels nothing compares to the Joy of seeing a handicapped or disabled person smile because of God’s love given at the right time. When children have no hope and are sad and are transformed by the love and power of God, it makes cataclysmic changes in their outlook to life forever.

He enjoys working with the poor, the disabled, widows and orphans and rejoices with them when they begin to smile with Liberty and freedom to express their hidden and buried talents.

Joan Henson

Has 2 grown up children, an adopted Roman daughter and 4 grandchildren. Joan has always been active in humanitarian works, initially in Romania driving a lorry as part of a convoy in 1991 and subsequently making over 20 visits to support children in a State orphanage.

She is a testimony to what God can do as demonstrated when top Consultants gave her little to no chance of surviving a life threatening illness that hospitalized her for 2 years – Joan made a complete recovery, despite medical treatment failing to bring a cure and has since traveled widely encouraging all to trust God for His faithfulness even in the most dire situations.

Believing that God called her to be an instrument of change, Joan was responsible for setting up the sponsorship scheme for the charity after making a visit to India with Kumar in 2002 and she has made several subsequent visits. In the UK, Joan produces the charity newsletters and bulletins. The projects being undertaken in India are very much on her heart and she delights to see the children being homed and the widows and sick being cared for.

Joan spends as much time as possible outside her charity works, visiting her grandchildren in France and Italy and walking the dog in Cornwall.

She gives thanks to God for her life daily.
